I made this ring at the start of summer, then took it to a pool at the edge of a cliff and let it fall into the shallow water.
The water spread the light out over it, layer by layer. In the light it danced. In the water it went quiet.
Sun, then rain, then sun. Then everything settled.
Days go like that too. I wanted something on my hand that had already been through it and come out unchanged.

Material & Craft
This silver iris ring begins as wax, with the band carved as a length of stem and the blooms and blade leaves worked open along the top. The negative space is part of the structure rather than surface decoration, allowing light to pass through the composition. It is cast in S925 sterling silver by the lost-wax method, then finished by hand in an independent Chinese studio. Small round buds complete each end of the band.
Wearing & Styling
Worn, it reads as a spray of irises laid across the finger rather than a stone sitting on top. The band is closed and made to your size rather than adjusted onto it, which is how the openwork keeps its shape. Choose the iris ring polished or matte — the same casting, two different amounts of light. The same irises grow through a matching bracelet, and at full scale in our iris flower bouquet.
About This Piece
The iris is commonly associated with faith, wisdom, and courage. It is also recognized as the flower of the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary, whose traditional material is silver. In this ring, those two symbols meet without becoming ceremonial: a bloom kept on the hand, made to move through ordinary days with its wearer.

Every piece begins as a block of wax and a quiet idea — carved in the hand, tested against skin, before it ever touches fire.
Lost-wax casting does the rest. The wax melts away, silver fills what remains. What emerges is rough, honest, full of the maker’s decisions. Then the slow work begins — filing, polishing, setting stones one by one, until only what belongs is left.
Your order is wrapped the same way it was made: by hand. Paper box, polishing cloth, care card, wax-sealed envelope — tied with string, not tape. No plastic. No filler. Because the last step of making something well is sending it well.
