Material & Craft
This sterling silver butterfly ring begins with an original digital model, then is refined and hand-finished in S925 silver. The openwork band and layered wings are resolved as one continuous form: the lines deepen and gather until negative space gives way to solid silver. A fire-white finish softens the surface of the wings, while partial polishing brings selected contours back to a brighter silver.
Wearing & Styling
The butterfly rises above the finger rather than lying flat against it. From the front, the partially polished contours trace each layer; from the side, skin and light remain visible through the openwork below. Wear it alone, or keep any neighbouring band quiet enough to leave the silhouette its space.
About This Piece
This handmade butterfly ring holds transition in one object—not by placing a butterfly on a band, but by letting the ring itself pass through the change. The hollow beginning remains visible beneath the finished wings, so what came before is not erased by what follows. In the Unbound Lines — Nemo collection, negative space belongs to the form; here, it becomes the record of becoming. Lost-wax casting does the rest. The wax melts away, silver fills what remains. What emerges is rough, honest, full of the maker’s decisions. Then the slow work begins — filing, polishing, setting stones one by one, until only what belongs is left.
