Butterfly Dream | 990 Pure Silver Butterfly Ring

Hand-carved in wax and cast in 990 pure silver using lost wax casting — 99% silver, softer and warmer in tone than sterling, its surface quiet rather than mirror-bright. This silver butterfly ring carries a butterfly that exists nowhere in nature: six wings layered mid-flutter, every vein and ragged wing-edge drawn at the wax stage before casting. The band runs low beneath the wings, so what shows on the hand is almost all butterfly.

Wearing & Styling
Worn on the index or middle finger, it reads less like a ring and more like something that landed and decided to stay. The wings lift with the hand’s movement, so it wants the finger to itself — little competes well with a dream. Each one is cast to order; leave your ring size in the order notes. Its siblings share the species: the pair flies in our asymmetric butterfly earrings, and an earlier butterfly rests in our sterling silver butterfly ring.

About This Piece
The maker memorized the line as a child: Zhuangzi, waking, could not say whether he had dreamed the butterfly or the butterfly was now dreaming him. Adulthood brought the question back — what did that butterfly look like? This silver butterfly ring is the studio’s answer: a species with six wings, half-visible, cast so the question can be worn. No two come out of the wax the same.
