Manta Ray Necklace | Layered Sterling Silver

Material & Craft
Built from an original digital model, this manta ray necklace is formed in S925 sterling silver, then refined, surface-finished and stone-set by hand in an independent Chinese studio. Curved planes fold around open spaces to shape the broad wings, tapered body and long, curling tail. Fine matte surfaces meet brighter polished edges, while a blue zircon rests at the end of the slender upper drop.

Wearing & Styling
Two chains create the layered arrangement shown, balancing the narrow upper pendant above the wider ray. An open neckline leaves space around the wings and lets the tail continue its full descent; against a plain dark top, the silver contours and blue point become more pronounced. The necklace is designed to hold the centre of the neckline rather than disappear into a layered stack.

About This Piece
Rather than reproducing a manta ray naturalistically, the design reduces it to moving lines, folded planes and deliberate breathing space. The upper drop, winged body and articulated tail meet along one vertical path, holding stillness and motion within the same composition. It belongs to the Unbound Lines — Nemo collection, where separate details are resolved as one living form.
