Words cross the oval face as irregular, hand-drawn marks; the open, intertwined band is refined and polished by hand. Small variations remain part of the piece.

About This Piece
Part of the Narrative Poem collection, the engraved poetry ring turns eight short imperatives into something carried on the hand: holding and release, trust and care, falling and rising, fear and hope. The words are excerpted from a poem by Ana Sampson. Rather than explaining them, the ring leaves their oppositions visible, close enough to return to during the day. It is made less as a slogan than as a small, tactile reminder.
